Dear Highland Parent/Guardian and Student,
My name is Brad Wallace, I am the new principal at Highland High School. I am so excited to be a part of the Highland Ram Family! This promises to be a great year. Our school goals include not only increasing the amount of learning and achievement of each student, but also improving our relationships with parents/guardians and students. I will work hard at increasing our communication with you through various methods, including: family nights, our website, social media, automated texts, emails and phone messages, installation and use of a digital reader board, and more. You will be asked through electronic survey at times to give us feedback on how we are doing so we can continue to improve.. I want every student and parent/guardian to feel a part of the Highland family! I want Parents/Guardians to have the chance to take part. Please contact me if you would like to be involved here at Highland. Please feel free to call me or come in and see me at any time. My door is always open to parents and students for any reason.
We as a faculty believe deeply in Highland’s motto that Right Attitude Means Success and we will work to make sure each student gets the experiences and skills they need to prepare them for college and/or a career. We will be diligent in supporting students who need help and intervention.
School begins on Monday, August 22, 2016. The first day schedule is included below. Back to School Night will be held at Highland High School on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Connections Credit Union will be sponsoring a family BBQ from 5:30-6:30. Students and Parents/Guardians can then visit teachers from 6:30-7:30pm. We hope to see you at this event.
Black and Blue Bowl week will be September 19-23 with Freshman/JV games on September 22 at Irving Middle School and Varsity on September 23 at Holt Arena. Homecoming Week this year will be held October 3-8 and we will be playing Madison.
