HHS May 1-May 8 Letter from Administration

Dear Parent/Guardian, Student, and Highland Ram Supporter,

We want to congratulate three teachers at Highland High School who were recognized by the Idaho State Journal in their top 20 professionals under 40 years old from the Pocatello area.  These teachers include Coach Nick Sorrell, Coach Camille Marchand, and Stefanie Plato.  We are proud of you and thank you for what you do for our students and community.  For more details please go to the link.

http://idahostatejournal.com/overunder40/

Graduates, this is your final reminder to pay your fees and order your cap and gown so that it can be here in time for graduation.

Also, we have entered May and in a few weeks the 2016-17 school year will be over.  As the school year comes to a close and we celebrate our growth and accomplishments, please be careful and make good decisions.  We want you to celebrate and enjoy yourself, but please do so wisely.  We are so proud of each student and all they have accomplished this year.  Let's finish out the year strong and celebrate our growth and accomplishments with prudence.

We are excited as Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Golf, and Track & Field finish up their final week or so of competition and teams prepare to peak at district and state tournaments.  We are excited to watch each of these teams reach the pinnacles of their seasons and compete at the highest levels in the state.  We are confident that each athlete will reap what they have sown through their hard work, dedication, and focus this year.

To remain competitive it is important to put in off season work.  Highland athletics and activities have all sorts of team and youth camps taking place over the summer.  In the following link you will see the different camps that will be available.  Please share this link to those who may be interested and contact the school with questions or concerns.

Finally, this week is teacher appreciation week.  We thank you teachers for the positive impact you have in our lives.  We recognize the countless hours and tireless work you dedicate to students so they can achieve their goals and ambitions.  Teachers, we thank you and love you.  We appreciate you!

HHS April 24-May 1 Letter from Administration

Dear Parent/Guardian, Student, and Highland Ram Supporter,

This Friday we have our Senior Assembly at 11am, it is an opportunity to celebrate our students who will be leaving us next year.  We are excited for these students and wish them the best in their future adventures.

Reminder for graduates to get their fees paid and that cap and gown orders for graduates need to be completed as orders are now past due but will be accepted until the end of the week.  Please contact the school with questions or concerns.

Reminder that AP testing is coming up the first two weeks of May.  Check the academic calendar to see the dates each test will be given.  We do not have much time left before the year is out.  Please make sure you are checking the academic and the athletics/activity calendars for important dates coming up.

In this week's newsletter we felt it would be important to review the RAM Attitudes we teach students about each week in advisory and to review the interventions for academics, attendance, and behavior we have in place at Highland High School.

We want each student to find success and we deeply believe in the RAM Attitudes we teach students about each week in Advisory.  We have developed interventions with these principles in mind.  Each intervention is designed to provide a student who wants to make some changes with the support and opportunities to make those changes.  We recognize the value of balancing support and accountability.  Our goal through each intervention with a student is to increase learning and growth.

Please take time to review the Highland High School RAM Attitudes and the interventions for academics, attendance and behavior found in the following links:
