Highland Electronic Sports Club
Highland E-Sports Club took 4th in Smash Brothers in district competition. They are in the championship for Rocket League and will play this Thursday. These results qualify them for state competition in Boise at Boise State University's E-sports Campus on April 29-April 30. We are excited for Mr. Hopwood, the coach, and the students who are participating. This is new this school year! Great job Rams representing in the 1st year!

Don’t let snow in April fool you – spring is here and so is all the excitement that the end of the school year brings. Heads up for the items below.
Senior Celebration – Woo Hoo !
Formerly known as the Senior Assembly, Highland’s version is much more celebratory and a lot less boring. Families, friends, supporters, and the school community will gather to honor and recognize all our graduating seniors, late morning, Friday, May 13th. Seniors will wear their caps and gowns and regalia or identifiers (leis, Native regalia, family heirlooms) that may not be permitted on graduation day. Bonus upon bonus that morning: students may sit with their friends (not the case on graduation day); afterward, students will receive their yearbooks and can enjoy them in each others’ company; and there will be a gathering in the small gym afterward, light refreshments, for graduates, families, and friends. Senior Celebration will recognize and honor all our graduates for whatever their immediate futures may hold.
We haven’t been able to do this since 2019, so please mark calendars and plan to join us on Friday, May 13th, 11:15 am, in the big gym.
Idaho Opportunity Scholarship
Seniors, if you applied to the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship, please be checking your personal email regularly. If you are offered this scholarship, you need to respond and accept it lickety split. Failure to watch and respond could mean losing thousands of dollars over the course of college and training.
Bengal Bridge
Are you headed to college or training in the fall? Consider enrolling in Bengal Bridge at ISU this summer. It is a compressed semester in 7 weeks, students can take up 9 or 10 credits at a great price, live on or off campus, and make a soft landing to the college experience. The course offerings are introductory-level classes that should transfer to any college or training program, and will help you make a smooth transition to college whether you plan to attend a 4-year college or 2-year career/technical program. ISU’s Bengal Visit Day – Saturday, April 23rd
For newly admitted students and their families on the Pocatello campus, Saturday, April 23, from 8 am to 2 pm. This day-long event gives admitted students the chance to tour campus, meet faculty and staff, have questions answered, and attend the spring football scrimmage. Seniors who are deciding where to attend college or training can use Bengal Visit Day to help in that process. Go to www.isu.edu/bvd to register in advance and get the day’s itinerary.
