Important
Information From the College Career Advisors=
Idaho State
University Dual-Credit Students & Families:
This is
just a friendly reminder to all dual-credit students and their families to be
sure that your dual-credit student has:
=> Applied
to ISU’s Early College Program (ECP) and been fully accepted.
=>
Submitted all the required documents and paperwork: signed Fast Forward form
and the Early College Permission form (which is now available online and can be
signed online).
=>
Established an Advanced Opportunities account to access his or her state funds
that pay for dual credit and career-technical education.
Most of our
dual-credit students are careful, conscientious, and have met all the
admissions requirements. But if your student is new to dual-enrollment academic
classes or career-technical education, please ask him or her the three points
above.
Students
and families have a lot of balls in the air these days. If your student is at
all uncertain, have them stop by the College Career area in Room C-36 and we
will be glad to help your student.

Idaho
College Fairs -- of the Virtual Kind
The state
of Idaho is offering a virtual college fair -- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
September 29, 30, and October 1st, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day-- for eleven
Idaho colleges, universities, and career-technical institutions. Students and
parents may register at the link below at times that work for each person

Idaho high
school students are fortunate to choose from seven four-year colleges (two of
which also offer career-technical education) and four career-technical
colleges. Highland’s guidance counselors and career college advisors strongly
encourage high school seniors and their families to “tour” the colleges below
before seniors undertake Apply Idaho in October (more on that in next week’s
blog). Idaho’s eleven institutions offering post-secondary education and
training are listed below.

In
addition, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is
offering four virtual college tour extravaganzas (one in September, two in
October, and one in November) for any senior student who is considering
spreading his or her wings to attend college out of state. More than 600 ( ! )
representatives from colleges and universities all over the country will be
available to answer questions or schedule “appointments.” Students build the
schedule they want with the schools they are interested in. To learn more, to
