Dear Highland Parent, Student, and Ram Supporter,
After several years at Highland Jami Stevenson has decided to move on in her career. Mrs. Stevenson has been our Student Support Specialist provided through the Tribal Youth Education Program (TYEP). We are so grateful for her service. She has impacted the lives of many of our students and many of us as staff. We wish her the best of luck. Thank you Jami for all your hard work and dedication to education. In the interim, Kendra Benally will be filling in until a replacement for Jami is found.

Advisory Changes
We have made some adjustments to the schedule on Monday's. We no longer will have advisory as a separate class period. A student's advisory teacher has been reassigned as their first period teacher. We have added time to first period on Monday's and advisory will now take place as a part of a students first period class. This decision was made because many of our students were leaving during advisory. It was a class that did not offer credit and so there was no impactful consequence for being absent. Now, with advisory as a part of first period, this is no longer the case. Please contact Principal Wallace with questions or concerns.

Student Achievement
Congratulations to Tristan McIntire! Tristan is a Highland freshman who competed in a film making competition where the participants are given a prompt and then have 48 hours to create a short film. The competition is called the Film 48. Tristan won Honorable Mention for his work! Great job Tristan, we are proud of you for this accomplishment. Tristan has been a part of our film art classes taught by Mr. Mark Ritcher.

Extra curricular's
Congratulations to Highland Drama. Our Drama students took 1st at districts for the first time in 27 years! This weekend they are headed to the state drama competition in Boise, ID. We wish them luck this weekend.
Congratulations to Highland Football on their amazing season! They finished as runners up at the state tournament. We are so proud of our players and coaches! You showed us what Ram Tough was all about! Great job Highland Football.

Other
Juniors and Seniors - The sign up form for the ASVAB exam is on the Counseling Center Google Classrooms. This is one of the best career inventories and can really be beneficial in helping you make some really important choices related to your future. Test date will be on December 9th @ 11:00 and pizza will be provided.

Math Tutoring is available Mon-Thurs from 12pm-1:30pm in room B70.
