Accomplishments
Congratulations to Mrs. Ashlee Scherer, a math teacher at Highland, for being recognized as a finalist for the 2021 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This is a state and national recognition. State Superintendent Ybarra said "Mrs. Scherer has a gift for sharing her passion and insight with students, equipping them for success in higher education and beyond." We are so grateful Mrs. Scherer's hard work and dedication is being recognized and we are proud of this well deserved accomplishment.
Thank you to everyone who helped sponsor and donated to Make-A-Wish. Between this year and last year we raised and were able to donate over $17,000! We are so grateful to everyone who participated in such an amazing event. Thank you to all the supportive businesses and to county for letting us use the Portneuf Wellness Complex Amphitheater. It was an awesome venue for such a great event. Again, thank you to everyone for helping sponsor Kash through Make-A-Wish.
Congratulations to Coach Tisha Coverdell. She has decided to retire from coaching softball after 25 years of service. We are so grateful for her dedication and legacy. She was honored by having the softball field where she has spent countless hours coaching and competing named "Tisha Coverdell Field." Coach, we love you and thank you for the many lives you have impacted.
Summer School dates are set. There is one summer school session this year from June 1st to July 8th. Summer School will be online. There are accommodations for students who do not have internet. Please contact your school counselor to register or for other questions or concerns.
