HHS 9/11-9/9/18/17


Dear Parent/Guardian, Student, and Highland Ram Supporter,

Back to School Night is scheduled for Monday September 18th from 5:30-8pm.   The agenda for the evening is as follows:

  • 5:30-6:30pm Family BBQ Sponsored by Connections Credit Union
  • 6:30-6:45pm Welcome Back to School Opening in Auditorium
  • 6:50 - 7:00 p.m.  Meet with 1st hour teachers
  • 7:05 - 7:15 p.m.  Meet with 2nd hour teachers
  • 7:20 - 7:30 p.m.  Meet with 3rd hour teachers
  • 7:35 - 7:45 p.m.  Meet with 4th hour teachers
  • 7:50 - 8:00 p.m.  Meet with 5th hour teachers

We hope to see you in attendance, it should be a fun night.

Also, coming up is PSAT Day on October 11th.  All Sophomores will be taking the PSAT and Juniors are highly encouraged to participate.  Juniors must pay to take the test, the cost is $15.  All Juniors will be taking the SAT in the spring as part of Idaho graduation requirements and so we feel that taking the PSAT will give them an advantage in preparing to do their best on the test in the spring.  Please contact the school or the school counselors to sign up your Juniors for the PSAT on October 11.

We wanted to take a moment and recognize one of our Highland students who exemplifies what it means to be a Ram.  Highland High School student Tommy Togiai is currently being recruited to play college football by the top Division I schools in the country; including Ohio State, USC, and others.  Tommy was also chosen to receive the Army All-American Student-Athlete award.  This honor has only been given to one other Highland Student-Athlete, Tristen Hoge who is currently playing football at BYU.  This award is reserved for the top high school student-athletes in the nation.  Tommy will receive this award on October 19 during a school assembly.  Tommy, #71, plays defensive tackle for the Rams.  Beyond the football field he works hard in the classroom, and is a friend to all.  He personifies the Highland motto of Right Attitude Means Success.  We are proud of Tommy and excited to see him be presented with opportunities he has opened through his hard work and inspiring character.  Come see him in action this Friday in the Holt Arena where Highland takes on local rival Century High School.  Kickoff is at 8:15pm.
