HHS May 8-May 15 Letter from Administration


Dear Parent/Guardian, Student, and Highland Ram Supporter,

Graduation is fast approaching on May 26th at 3:00pm at Holt Arena.  Herff Jones will be at the school to hand out caps and gowns on Tuesday May 16th.  Also, student seating assignments for graduation and other graduation information will be distributed to the students this week. For questions or concerns please contact the school.  

Here is the schedule for graduates:

May 18 & 19=Senior Finals/Senior Last Day of School 19th
May 22=Senior Makeup Day
May 24 & 25=Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors Finals
May 25=Last Day of School
May 26=
  • 7am-9am Graduation Rehearsal @ Holt Arena
  • 9am-11am Senior Breakfast @ HHS Cafeteria-$5
  • 3pm Highland High School Graduation @ Holt Arena (graduates arrive at 2pm)
  • 10pm-2am Senior All-Night Party @ Outer Limits-$45
Reminder to all graduates and parents of the expectations for etiquette for the graduation ceremony.  Failure to adhere to the expectations will result in being removed from the ceremony.  We ask for your help in respecting the culture of the graduation ceremony and making sure it is a positive and inspiring event for all of us.  
  • Students will not be able to alter their cap or gown in any way. 
  •  Noise makers and/or objects like balloons, frisbees, blow horns, beach balls, or anything distracting from the ceremony are not allowed.  
  • Students should be properly clothed under their robes. 
We are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with our students and their families.   

Also, we have entered May and in a few weeks the 2016-17 school year will be over.  As the school year comes to a close and we celebrate our growth and accomplishments, please be careful and make good decisions.  We want you to celebrate and enjoy yourself, but please do so wisely.  We are so proud of each student and all they have accomplished this year.  Let's finish out the year strong and celebrate our growth and accomplishments with prudence.  

We invite each of you to attend our Chamber Choir Concert this week, our Band Concert, and our School Musical-"I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change."  See the calendar of activities below for dates and times.   

We wanted to congratulate our baseball teams and the great season they had.  District tournament play continues this week with Golf, Softball, Track & Field, and Tennis.  Next week each of these programs are expected to be headed to the state tournament.  Business Professionals of America will be at a National Competition in Orlando, FL this week.  We wish each program the best in their efforts.  

On Monday night we also have the great opportunity to celebrate our students with Highest Honors at the Highest Honors Reception at Century High School at 6:30pm.   

We are proud of each of our students at Highland and all they are accomplishing.  Thank you for the support you give them and to our school.
