Recently, Assistant Principal Wilcox found an article that was released by Business Insider (May 6, 2016) where they reported on a study of the top 13 things parents/guardians of successful kids have in common. We, as an administration, wanted to share this with our Highland parents/guardians. Here is the list:
1) Have your kids do chores.
2) Teach your kids social skills.
3) They have high expectations of their kids.
4) Build healthy relationships with each other.
5) Pursue your education-parent/guardian.
6) Teach your kids math early on.
7) Develop your relationship with your kids.
8) Operate with low-stress levels.
9) Value effort over avoiding failure.
10) Mothers work.
11) Consistently work at bettering your situation.
12) They are assertive, not authoritarian or permissive.
13) They teach GRIT.

Family Events/Activities Passes available for $130. This gets you and your entire immediate family (except high school students-they must buy their own activity card) into any home event for the entire school year. This does NOT include Holt Arena.
Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Pocatello Raffle for Athletics and Activities: Support athletics and activities and buy raffle tickets for $2 for the chance to win a new Dodge Dart worth $25,000 donated by Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Pocatello. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can buy. All expenses for the car are covered, including taxes. All proceeds go to school athletics and activities. Tickets are on sale until March 24, 2017 and the drawing will take place at the new Lithia Dealership in Pocatello on March 31, 2017.
