Juniors Higher Education Day
Tomorrow, March 7th, at Highland is Juniors Higher Education Day. For Juniors that want to participate we have representatives from 8 Idaho colleges, Utah State, experts on financial aid and scholarships, military representatives, and apprenticeship opportunities at Highland during 1st and 2nd periods for Juniors to meet with and start thinking about their Senior Year and life after graduation. Juniors who participate will choose 3 sessions. We hope all juniors fully participate and attendance will be taken. Afterwards, Juniors will go to their 3rd period. If there are some who do not want to participate, they will just go to their classes as normal.

Key Club Blood Drive
Tomorrow, March 7th, in the lower gym Key Club is hosting a blood drive. Students 16 and older can participate. If you donate you qualify for a $10 gift card. Donating Blood is an easy way to help someone in need. See Mrs. Frasure in room B67 with questions and to sign up.

Highland Drama presents Into the Woods. First show starts Thursday March 9th and goes through Tuesday the 14th. Each show starts at 7pm with a matinee at 1pm on Saturday the 11th. Get your tickets now online at

Reminder to Pay Spring Extra Curricular Participation Fees
Reminder for those participating in Track & Field, Tennis, Baseball or Softball to please get your spring extra curricular participation fees paid. For any questions please contact our Bursar Mrs. Huelsman, (208)237-1300 ext.106. The prices are listed below:
1st Activity: $105
2nd Activity: $90
3rd Activity: $75
An Additional $50 if the student has not purchased an activity card.

Parking Lot Warning
We have had several students parking in areas outside the assigned parking areas and blocking traffic and bus lanes. We have been announcing warnings and will now tow students who we find parking in an unassigned location or parking illegally. Also, a few students have been driving recklessly in the mornings, flipping cookies and peeling out and drag racing through the parking lot. If this continues, these students will be banned from parking on Highland campus. Please contact Principal Wallace with questions.

Extra Curricular's
Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team. This is the first time we have made it to state in 8 seasons. We are so proud of the great season our team had.

School Calendar
On April 12th Juniors will be taking the SAT. All other students have an online school day that day and do not need to physically come to the school. The students not taking the SAT will have work to do online. On April 25th the Juniors then take the ISAT. This too is an online day for Seniors, Sophomore's and Freshman. The Juniors need to come to school, everyone else stays home for an online day. Please mark these dates in your calendar. It is essential for our Juniors to make it on April 12 & April 25 for their tests. Please contact the school with any questions or concerns.

about it earlier on this classroom.
If you want to share your personal and contact information with colleges and post-
secondary programs tomorrow or going forward (for college visits or college fairs). You
have the option to enroll in StriveScan.

Your Scholarships – How Many & How Much
Senior Students & Families,
Throughout Tri 3, and before you can pick up you graduation regalia, we would like you
to share with the CCAs: where you were awarded scholarships (all the schools and
programs) and the amount of each scholarship. We’re keeping a spreadsheet.
The data that is collected – which reflects only institutions and scholarship fund totals at
each institution, and NO personal data – is shared with both school district
administration and the State Board of Education. That data serves to support the
presence of CCAs in our schools.
Get us your scholarship information in any form that is easy for you (an email, a note, a
scribble on a paper napkin) and we’ll enter it into our spreadsheet.
This is a good exercise for seniors because it is absolutely a resume item and an
endorsement of your high school efforts, academic and otherwise.
Seniors, April 3 rd =& ISU Scholarship Awards Event
Mark your calendars!
On Monday, April 3 rd , during the combined 1 st hour / TA period, Idaho State University
will be in Highland’s library with coffee, donuts, and beverages to formally award and
recognize all our seniors who earned scholarships to ISU’s many programs and degree
programs. More information will follow, but families are invited and the event will be live
streamed.
This is a lovely recognition of our seniors’ hard work and we are grateful to ISU for
kicking off the graduation season with such a nice event.
It is a new tri-mester . . . let’s make it a good one. Be careful out there, everyone.
Construction Combine – March 29 & 30
In the spring, a select few students from each high school have an opportunity to
participate in the Construction Combine during which they are introduced to, and learn
some, basic construction skills and techniques such as framing, drywall, plumbing, and
much more. It will be two full days out of school, so students need to be in good
attendance and academic standing and have to apply by following the link below.
Students are expected to fully participate for BOTH days. Mark your calendars and
apply by March 15 th . Female students are particularly encouraged to apply. Details
below.
If you have questions, staff from Continuing Education and Workforce Training will be at
school on Wednesday, March 8th , in the Commons area during lunch. Get more
information then. Some students who participate may be hired by contractors for
summer work.
