IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Happy New Year! We are excited to be back in school and we hope that everyone had a wonderful winter break and had time to set some great goals/resolutions for 2019.
Reminder that this month we do not have school on Monday January 21st for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and students do not have school on January 30th for a teacher professional development day. Also, the 24th marks midterms for the 2nd trimester. It is crazy how fast this 2nd trimester is going.
From our Parent Advisory Group meeting in December one of the goals we set for this school year was increasing the safety of our parking lot. We are currently looking at options for putting in some curbing, lighting, cameras, and designated entry and exit places. Other ideas for improving the safety in our parking lot are being discussed with law enforcement and others.
Our facilities committee on our leadership team has been pursuing putting in a press box, concessions, and bathrooms at Iron Horse Stadium. We currently are collecting some bids for the project. Our goal is having the project completed by the beginning of the 2019-20 school year.
Our academic committee on our leadership team is working on putting together an elective fair. Also, we are discussing a time designated for working with parents and students to do academic planning for the 2019-20 school year. We will keep you updated as these ideas progress.
