HHS April 3-April 10 Letter from Administration


Dear Parent/Guardian, Student, and Highland Ram Supporter,

Congratulations to Dan Harrison, parent of a Pocatello High School student, winner of the Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (CJDR) raffle.  He won a brand new Dodge Dart.  We are so grateful to the generosity of General Manager Reid Garrett and Lithia CJDR of Pocatello for helping us raise over $56,000 for high school athletics and activities in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25.  We thank you and appreciate your support of the students and programs in our school district.


There are several important assessments taking place in the month of April.  Both the ISAT and SAT are necessary for students to graduate.  As a result we will not be having Advisory on April 3rd and April 17th.  On April 3rd and 17th the majority of sophomores will participate; while on the 10th and 24th students who miss or who have special services will participate.  On Tuesday, April 11th, Juniors across the state of Idaho will be participating in the statewide SAT day.  Our Juniors will spend the day taking the SAT at Highland High School.  Upon completion they will be given lunch and then they will be released for the day (a schedule of the day will be posted in the next newsletter). Seniors will not be required to attend school on this day.  It is an opportunity for them to fill out college applications or to complete with other post secondary preparation.  Freshman and sophomores will, on April 11th, have the opportunity to participate in a day of service.  They will read to elementary students, work at the Portneuf Wellness Complex and at the Highland Golf Course.  After their service in the morning, the day will turn to some fun activities in the afternoon.

Finally, towards the end of the month and the beginning of May AP testing begins.  Please have your students get plenty of rest this month as much will be required of them.  We appreciate their efforts in doing the best they can on each assessment.
