We had four Highland students win cash awards in the
Pocatello’s Art Center’s Invitational High School Art Show. Madison
Kmetz, Dawson Boyer, Henry Snell & Ryann Henderson! We are so proud of the focused work each of these students.
Highland participates annually in working with Make-A-Wish Idaho to provide a wish for someone in need. This year we are sponsoring a little girl named Kiara. Kiara has endured some obstacles in her young life and continues to wear a smile on her face. She loves horses and has always wanted to go to a Dude Ranch. Highland High School is working to make Kiara's wish a reality by raising money through several events. If possible, please support your student in being involved with these activities.

Monday 3/13 Make-A-Wish Assembly Schedule:
The Special Olympics is a powerful program seeking to do good in our community. Highland has a desire to help raise money so the athletes who compete in the Special Olympics are supported. Mr. Noble and his Business Professionals of America Club, with support of the National Guard, are having a Carnival at Highland High School on Thursday March 16th 6:30pm-9:30pm to raise money to donate to the athletes in the Special Olympics. Entry to the Carnival is $5 and this includes 10 tickets. More tickets are available in $5=10 tickets increments. Come and enjoy a fun night at HHS raising money for a good cause in the community.
Mrs. Frasure and the Key Club are organizing a blood drive for Tuesday 3/14/17 at Highland High School to help the Red Cross provide for those in need. This is for students 16 years of age and older. Sign-ups are taking place starting Monday 3/6-Monday 3/13. Please see Mrs. Frasure in room B67 to sign-up. Donating blood is a great way for students to be looking beyond themselves and living a selfless life. It is a way to literally save lives. It is also something that they could do every 8 weeks for the rest of their lives as long as they are healthy. If they overcome their fears and have a good experience when they donate with their friends here at Highland, then they will hopefully make it a life-long habit of service. The Red Cross is in a critical position right now. They are critically low on blood and it is not something they can buy at the store or order online. They need selfless people to voluntarily donate blood. Students will need parent/guardian permission to donate. We appreciate your support.

Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Pocatello Raffle for Athletics and Activities: Support athletics and activities and buy raffle tickets for $2 for the chance to win a new Dodge Dart worth $25,000 donated by Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Pocatello. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can buy. All expenses for the car are covered, including taxes. All proceeds go to school athletics and activities. - Discretionary state funding has not been fully restored and remains at the 2009 level.
- Cost increases: cover inflationary fixed costs such as power, water, services, supplies and insurance.
- Maintain existing instructional and extracurricular programs and activities.
- Recruit and retain highly qualified teachers and para-professional staff.
